The Pembrokeshire Swimming team traveled from Wales to participate in the competition For participating clubs, who traveled from near and far to attend the meet, the Plymouth Leander National Qualifier was a worthwhile experience in terms of its excellent facilities, welcoming atmosphere and the organizational competence of the host club. Adding to the atmosphere was the passionate support of the swimmers from the spectator stands. Over family members, friends, and swimming enthusiasts packed into the gallery for each of the sessions, exceeding all 7 previous years of Plymouth Leander national-level competitions in size and spirit.

It is also the dynamism and organizational competence of the host club that lends a special atmosphere to the meet, resulting in an event that is as professional as it is warm and welcoming. With a strong community atmosphere, congenial ties to local teams and regional or national swimming bodies, and support from the Plymouth City Council and the Everyone Active Life Centre, the joint efforts by all parties involved resulted in a high-quality event that was more than just an average swim meet.
While injury curtailed his progress inGoodfellow returned to the international stage in with a final appearance in the 3m Springboard at the FINA Diving Grand Prix in Bolzano.
He returned to the domestic podium at the start ofwinning 10m Synchro gold with Tom Daley and individual 10m bronze at the National Cup in Southend.

Sarah Barrow Sarah Barrow made her Commonwealth debut as a year old at Melbournefinishing fifth in the 10m Synchro alongside Monique Gladding. Further success followed for Barrow and Couch as they won European gold inEuropean silver in and Commonwealth silver at Glasgow Barrow is also a world class diver in the individual 10m Platform, finishing fourth at the World Championships in Barcelona and winning European gold in Berlin in Robyn Birch Before specialising in diving, Robyn Birch was a world class artistic gymnast and competed at the European Championships in and World Championships in Her major diving breakthrough came the following year as she won Group A Platform gold at the British Elite Junior Championships then finished fifth in the same event and age group at the European Juniors.
She retained her title in then won her first individual senior national medal with 10m Platform bronze at the British National Cup in She enjoyed junior international success the same season, winning bronze on her European Junior debut in Graz, then finishing eighth in the same event at the World Junior Championships in Adelaide. A string of injuries over and disrupted her progress, but Lobb returned to win Group A Platform silver at the Junior Elites, then finished fourth in the 10m Platform at the European Games in Baku.
City of Oxford Swimming Club punch above their weight again on the national swimming stage
Matthew Dixon Matthew Dixon was the star of his age group inand as he landed a clean sweep of the 1m, 3m and Platform titles at three consecutive British Elite Junior Championships. Dixon continued his progress inwinning silver at the British Championships and a fourth straight British Elite Junior Platform title, competing for the final time in the Group B age group. Vincent pulled off a surprise as a year old at the British Championships in Sheffield, winning 10m Platform gold at Ponds Forge to seal a place on the England team for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, where she finished 10th.
She missed seven months of training in after an emergency eye operation to correct a detached retina, but returned with a final berth on her European Junior Championship debut in Moscow, finishing sixth in the 1m Springboard.
